Why I do not comment…

I’m apprehensive about leaving comments on others blogs, because I want to add something useful and insightful to the discussion and not just throw my opinion around like a drunk freshman girl at the bar. Sometimes I suspect people think they are so smart and clever that their comment is a godsend to the blogger.

Interestingly, the most recent additions to my RSS Feed have come from those who leave the useful and insightful comments. They don’t write useless white noise. Keep that in mind the next time you are about to say something that in lacks much substance.

Sometimes the extra 5 or 10 seconds of effort to show you actually want to listen and not wait for your turn to speak really sits well with your readers.
